Every advertisement on Bandhan is reviewed by our moderation team before it is published. Nothing goes live automatically.
This policy explains how that review works, what we look for, the decisions we can make, and how we keep the process fair and transparent.

Overview

Bandhan is a matrimonial classifieds platform built on trust. To protect everyone who uses it, all advertisements are reviewed before they are published — a model often described as pre-moderation.
Review before publication
When you submit an advertisement, it does not appear in search results immediately. It first enters a moderation queue, where a member of our team checks it against our policies and Community Guidelines. Only approved advertisements are made public.
We continue to monitor content after publication, and advertisements can also be removed later if they are found to break our rules or are reported by other users.

The Review Process

During review, our moderators check each advertisement for:

The wording is checked for accuracy, tone, completeness, and appropriate, respectful language.
Contact Information
We check that contact details are not embedded in the description and that exposure follows our verification rules.
Policy Compliance
The advertisement is checked against our Terms & Conditions and platform policies.
Community Guidelines
We confirm the content reflects the standards expected of a respectful matrimonial community.

Content That May Be Rejected

An advertisement may be rejected, in full or in part, if it contains any of the following.
Offensive Language
Profanity, vulgar, or otherwise offensive wording.
Hate Speech
Content that attacks or demeans people based on religion, caste, community, or background.
Abusive Content
Harassment, threats, intimidation, or other abusive material.
Fake Information
False or misleading details about age, marital status, profession, or identity.
Contact in Description
Phone numbers, emails, or social handles placed inside the advertisement text.
Commercial Advertisements
Promotion of products, services, businesses, events, or external websites.
Scam-Related Content
Anything that appears designed to deceive, defraud, or financially exploit users.
Illegal Content
Content that promotes or facilitates anything unlawful.
Duplicate Advertisements
The same advertisement posted repeatedly to gain extra visibility.
Incomplete Advertisements
Advertisements missing the essential details needed for a genuine matrimonial listing.

Moderation Decisions

Following review, a moderator may take one of the following decisions.

Approval
The advertisement meets our standards and is published so other users can find it in search results.
2
Rejection
The advertisement does not meet our standards and is not published. You receive the reason for rejection so you can correct and resubmit where possible.
3
Removal After Publication
An advertisement that was published may later be removed if new information, a user report, or ongoing monitoring shows it breaks our rules.
Whenever an advertisement is rejected, we tell you why. This helps you understand the decision and fix the issue if you would like to submit again.

User Reporting

Moderation does not stop at publication. Users are an important part of keeping Bandhan safe, and you can report anything that concerns you.
You can report an advertisement or user for:
Fake advertisements or fake profiles.
Misleading or inaccurate information.
Harassment, threats, or abusive behaviour.
Safety concerns, suspected scams, or fraud.
Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, and we may remove content or restrict accounts based on what we find. Use the Report Abuse option to flag content for review.

Repeat Violations

We take repeated breaches of our policies seriously. Enforcement escalates with the severity and frequency of violations.
Warning / Ad Rejection
Removal of Content
Temporary Restriction
Permanent Suspension
Serious violations — such as fraud or threats — may lead to immediate suspension without earlier steps, and may be reported to the appropriate authorities where legally required.

Refund Policy for Rejected Ads

Rejected paid ads are refunded automatically.
If a paid advertisement is rejected during moderation, your payment is refunded automatically to your original payment method. You do not need to request it.
If a paid advertisement is rejected, the payment is refunded automatically.
You receive the reason for the rejection so you understand the decision.
You are welcome to correct the issue and submit a new advertisement.
Approved advertisements are non-refundable, and free or promotional advertisements have nothing to refund. For full details, please see our Refund Policy.

Transparency Statement

Every moderation decision is made to protect the community and maintain the quality and trustworthiness of the platform — never arbitrarily. We aim to apply our policies consistently and to always give a clear reason when we reject an advertisement.
